How to compare flight fares without losing the details

Compare flight searches with TLQ and check airports, travelers, baggage and fare conditions before paying.

The TLQ team

Finding a lower flight price is useful only when it buys the journey you intended. Before comparing fares across booking sites, keep the route, travelers and fare conditions consistent.

Start with a search you are happy with

Set your dates, departure and arrival airports, cabin and traveler count. Check whether a result uses a different airport or arrives the following day. For a return or multi-city trip, review every leg.

A lower fare for a different itinerary may still be attractive. Treat it as a separate choice so you understand what you would change to get that price.

Open comparison searches with TLQ

On supported, complete Google Flights searches, TLQ's flight comparison panel lets you choose booking sites and open searches for your itinerary. Check the route, dates, cabin and travelers shown in the panel before using Compare.

The panel opens searches; it does not fetch live fares or guarantee a lower price. Available sites depend on which ones can represent your search. Review the details on every destination site, and reapply filters when needed.

Enable Flight comparison in the extension's Settings if you want to use the panel. Reload an open flight page after changing the setting.

Compare the fare you would actually buy

Look beyond the first number. Check the baggage you need, seat-selection charges, payment total and any change or cancellation conditions attached to the fare.

For example, a $220 fare with a $40 bag charge and a $20 seat charge totals $280. A $265 fare including those items would cost $15 less. These are illustrative amounts, not current airline prices or a claim about any provider.

Only add extras you plan to buy. An included benefit that you will not use need not determine your choice.

Recheck children and infants carefully

Traveler categories and ages can affect both search results and booking requirements. Enter requested ages accurately, and confirm the traveler details again on the booking site. Never assume a comparison page has preserved them without checking.

If a site cannot represent your party through the panel, search there directly with the correct details.

Include the journey's comfort

Compare departure time, connection length and available comfort information alongside cost. A small saving may be less appealing if it adds an inconvenient connection or changes an overnight flight you preferred.

Read our Google Flights legroom guide for using TLQ's aircraft and seating details during that decision.

Verify the final offer before paying

Search prices can change. On the final booking page, confirm passenger details, all flight dates, airports, baggage and the complete amount payable. Read who handles the booking and how to contact them if you need help afterward.

A comparison gives you options. The final offer tells you what you are buying.
