Google Flights legroom: compare comfort before booking

Use TLQ’s available aircraft, seat-pitch and amenity details to weigh comfort alongside your flight fare.

The TLQ team

When two flights cost almost the same, comfort can help you choose between them. Looking at the aircraft, seat spacing and available amenities gives you more to work with than departure time and fare alone.

Understand what seat pitch tells you

Seat pitch describes the spacing between a point on one seat and the same point on the seat in front. It can help compare seating layouts, but it is not a direct measurement of the empty space available for your legs. Seat design and your own proportions affect how the space feels.

Use it as one comparison point alongside cabin, flight duration and the seat you can actually select.

See available details while browsing

On supported Google Flights pages, TLQ adds aircraft and seat-pitch details to flight results when the information is available. Wi-Fi, power and entertainment appear when provided. For connecting itineraries, review the details for each segment.

Install TLQ for Chrome and enable Flight legroom & seat maps in Settings. The Legroom units control lets you choose inches or centimeters while that feature is enabled.

Missing details mean you need to investigate further. They do not tell you whether a flight has or lacks a particular amenity.

Give the longest segment the attention it needs

An itinerary might pair a short connection with a much longer flight. Compare the comfort of the segment where you will spend most of your time, then check the connection separately.

A small difference may matter more to you on an overnight journey than a short daytime flight. Think about whether you plan to sleep, work or simply arrive with less fatigue.

Check the seat you can book

Aircraft details describe part of the journey. The seat available with your fare is another part. Review the airline's seat selection and any charges before assuming the seat you want is included.

Confirm amenities that are essential to you with the airline. Aircraft assignments and onboard facilities can change; browsing information cannot guarantee the final operating aircraft or a specific seat.

Compare comfort with the complete fare

If a more comfortable option costs more, include seat-selection and baggage charges in that comparison. An initially cheaper fare may look different after adding the things you need.

Our flight fare comparison guide explains how to keep the itinerary and fare conditions consistent as you compare booking options.

Choose around your own priorities

There is no single comfort number that decides every trip. Put the flight's duration, timing, connection and available seating together. TLQ brings useful details into the search; your priorities determine which flight fits best.
